Computer Networking is basically a network of computers, where a computer is connected with another computer through a LAN / Interface card and UTP CAT-5 cable. There can be a many computer connected with each other through a hardware device called either a Switch / Router / or a Hub. These network devices have ports or sockets through which a LAN Cable connector connects to it.

Earlier days, the LAN Cable used was Co-axial cable (it was similar to the cable which is generally seen with cable connection) some of the basic hardware components of computer networking are Network Card , Repeaters , Hubs , Bridges , Switches ,Routers , UTP Cables, Connectors.

There are different types of networks in computer. LAN or Local Area Network are those computer networks which have lesser computer and are defined to a particular geographical area. The area is generally within a kilometer. While WAN or Wide Area Network connects computers which are placed far distance, they are connected either with satellite or optical fibres as they cover a larger geographical area.

A laptop computer is also known as notebook computer or notebook. Laptop computer is a small portable mobile computer which typically weighs 1.5 kg to 6 kg. many older laptops weigh more.

Laptops generally run on a single main battery while a person is moving and is using it. It also runs on AC/DC power when a user stationary.

Laptops contain components that are similar to their desktop counterparts and perform the same functions, but are miniaturized and optimized for mobile use and efficient power consumption, although typically less powerful for the same price. Laptops usually have liquid crystal displays and most of them use different memory modules for their random access memory (RAM), for instance, SO-DIMM in spite of the larger DIMMs. In addition to a built-in keyboard, they may utilize a touchpad or a pointing stick for input, though an external keyboard or mouse can be attached

Computer viruses are programs written in any programming language. The intention behind making virus is not good. Some virus just infects the specific file without causing any harm to it. While other makes the file corrupt or some viruses are made to replicate themselves in your hard disk thus occupying more and more hard disk space. Some are extremely harmful to pc means the infects files and causes as much as harm they are designed to do. While others just remain in pc without much interference to system files.

Which means that to update them you have to connect to the internet and rest anti-virus does itself. So tip for keeping your pc safe and upto date, just install a good anti-virus and keep it updated. Which will protect your pc from viruses present on internet, Spyware, Malware, Trojans.

Computers now days have become a necessity, childrens have computers in there schools. Some good schools teaches computers to their students in early classes. This is good for building their basic fundamental stones. Basically in most of the schools uses computers for creative drawing like using paintbrush, teaching alphabets with sound and graphics. There are many CD-ROM’s available in market which are made for small childrens which help in improving their spelling power, picture identification, learning poems and lot more.

Many of us have computer at home or at office. Computers are popular as now days most of people have it at home. But home computers are generally used for emailing, chatting, watching movies and for learning purpose. The actual use of computers has yet to be discovered. Computers in departments like Defense, ISRO and Weather prediction are the major places where its maximum potential is utilized.

Now days the prices of computers are coming to lower day by day. The latest technologies which enters reduces the price of its previous edition. You can find computer as low as below the 15K mark and highest at about 25K. These estimated prices are for desktop computers. Floppy disk drives are things which have now disappeared from the normal PC configuration as PEN Drives have comes popular. Since PEN drives are handy the main advantage about Pen drive is that they does not gets damage as floppies used to while using them. You can use Pen drives for a longer duration as long it remains in your pocket. The one dis-advantage is their size being small in size, have a fear of falling while in transit.
